Honeywell UOP has been a pioneer of refining technologies for more than 100 years. We were the first licensor to commercialize the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). 2006: Together with Italian company ENI S.p.A., we pioneered Ecofining™ technology to create SAF using Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA)

2007: First to commercialize SAF production (with  ENI S.p.A.)

2011: First SAF-fueled transatlantic flight

2018: First SAF-fueled Trans-Pacific flight 

2021: First SAF-fueled passenger flight

2022: Honeywell UOP launches Ethanol to Jet technology
